It’s hard to write about this book, because I read it so quickly!

The author builds suspense very well and there’s lots of twists and turns that make it so fun to read. I literally could not put it down!

I like that there’s one main love plot point that just pops in every so often but it doesn’t take up the entire story. It’s not your usual love story, that’s for sure.

It’s easy to forget that this is based on true events in the sense that evacuees were sent to the country and there was a war on. I found myself thinking “oh I hope this war ends” and then would realise that I know how it turns out.

THE VIRALS SERIES BY KATHY REICHS 1/4/22 Hello to you all, It’s been 3 months since I posted on here as life has gotten in the way a little. That and the fact that I was reading a 6-book series so that took some time. The Virals series is by Kathy Reichs, notorious for her “Bones” series. These are like the teenage version of those; her character “Temperance Brennan” features in this series as her grandniece “Tory Brennan” is the main character here. The stories are truly wonderful, gripping from start to finish, throwing curveball after curveball at you to always throw you off the scent of who the bad guys are. I’m sad I have no finished the 5 part series (the 6th book being a collection of short stories that slot in between a few of the main 5). However, it has definitely urged me to delve into the world of “Bones” so if you see me reading that 24-part series later in the year, you know why! I’M COMING FOR YOU 2022!

I’M COMING FOR YOU 2022! 31/12/21 This year I should have read more books than I did. I easily could have, but I always felt there was something more important to be doing. Which there often was, but not always 😂 Anyway, I’m pleased to say that apart from rereading Harry Potter at the start of the year, the other books I read this year were all new; I’d never read them before. And that’s going to be my aim for 2022 too. That and read more than 12 books which is how many I managed in 2021. I also started a BookTube but I wasn’t very consistent in posting on there. I just haven’t had the inspiration that I had when I first started the channel. So I might post on there this year but who knows. My first book of the year is going to be “Virals” by Kathy Reichs. It’s the first in a series of 5 books and a 6th book which has 4 relating short stories in it. I think I may have read “Virals” years ago but only the first book and I can’t remember any of it so I’m excited to read this whole serie...

KAREN M. MCMANUS COLLECTION 29/12/22 Over the last month I read 5 books by Karen M McManus (including the sequel to a book I read in 2021) so I thought I would just do one big review. It may go without saying here, but I think I may have a new favourite author! I read "One Of Us Is Next", "Two Can Keep A Secret", "The Cousins", "You'll Be The Death Of Me" and "Nothing More To Tell". They were all very different but Karen's vivid story telling is consistent throughout. I loved "One Of Us Is Next" as it brought back characters from the first book and introduced new ones; I liked the familiarity. "Two Can Keep A Secret" may have been my favourite of the 5 I read. It was kind of 2 mysteries in one and with old secrets cropping up occasionally, it really kept me on my toes. "The Cousins" was very good, one thing I love about Karen's books is the chapters are separated by which character we're fol...
